In 2014, the outlook for the of the city’s future was in hot debate. The direction of its economy, the role of technology and the ever-present conflict around the city’s real estate. Enter Toronto Life’s City Series. A set of three, high-profile debates held at U of T’s Desautels Hall covering the future of Toronto’s Economy, Technology and Entrepreneurship and the future of the city’s Real Estate. The series featured notable media figures like CBC’s Amanda Lang and Nora Young, influential CEOs like Janet Ecker and Carol Wilding, former and current City Officials like Paul Bedford and Jennifer Keesmat, and other prominent figures like Craig Alexander (TD), Jim Orlando (OMERS), Alexander Peh (PayPal) and Salim Teja (MaRS), all debating the city’s future. The result, an engaging, one-of-a-kind series that set-in motion a dialogue that leapt from the stage onto the pages of Toronto Life online and in print.
